We received a response from Home Office today. They informed us that they could not expedite my husband's passport as this would not be fair to all the other EEA2 applicants. So we were basically told in a ever so English way to get lost. Distressing!
Hubby is currently venting his frustration in a letter to the Home Office, copied to our local MP and our well known Home secretary (the one who's husband was caught watching porn movies on the taxpayers expense - wasn't that a laugh and a half!).
I don't have the heart to point out to my darling hubby that nobody actually cares about his passport issues. The MP's and Cabinet Ministers are so busy running for cover that they are dropping balls all over the place. Besides hubby already knows - he just needs to get rid of some steam.
Now for some decisions........

Why don't you solve it the South African way... argue your case with the Home secretary and enclose a couple of porn DVD's. Maybe you should do some research on their sexual preferences first...
Hey girl, passport issues are universal... in Norway, having a British passport puts me at the back of the queue for everything...
watching parliament implode is a hoot isnt it? good luck to him... you never know, they might find it a welcome distraction!
Jonny - I tried but hubby said I would get arrested for harassment and so he took the movies away from me....
BB - Yebo brother - how right you are. I can imagine that the Nordmenn prefer the little red book yes....hubby is about to find out all about that too
Sam - isn't it just! And Mr Brown's stutter seams to have worsened during the past few weeks..
Sorry to hear about your truble, but remember; We still hope you'll come to Norway :-)
Oh yes - most definitely. The plan is 1 August but Peter might have to do a detour via South Africa due to no EEA visa in his passport.
If he had the EEA stamped in his passport he could enter Norway from the UK.
See you soon :)
That sucks. Especially since the way I understand your hubby's story, it's not like you are asking for special treatment - you just want the job done!
I remember a post a while ago when your hubby lost his passport, or it was stolen. Poor guy. He seems to have many passport issues. Hope it gets resolved soon.
Zhu - yes it does suck.Unfortunately Home Office is in complete shambles and there are loads of people complaining.
Gutsy - our current situation is the consequence of the stolen passport debacle.
I am pissed off because after 3 years of being tax payers in the British system we are put in the same 'box' as newcomers because of a stolen passport. I'm tired of the British tax man taking our money and treating us like second degree citizens.
Phew - that was a good vent! :)
Yeah that sucks! Good luck!
