Last night I passed out at 9pm. Hubby tried to wake me with the promise of a back massage but apparently I threatened to rip his balls off if he didn't leave me alone. Of course I have no recollection of this whatsoever.
The cause of such total and complete exhaustion is my new friend Bissell. What a marvelous job we did cleaning the carpets! Those of you who have little boys practicing their aiming skills in the bathroom will appreciate how distressing it is when the bathrooms are carpeted. My greatest complaint about the English - their obsession with carpeting the bathrooms!
I had my first bad purchase on ebay. We bought 2 used yamaha keyboards for the boys. One works brilliantly but the other one arrived with 21 broken keys (no sound escapes them). The seller is refusing to refund the whole amount so I have registered a claim with paypal. Very disappointing as we now have one son with a keyboard whilst the other has to sit and wait for some unscrupulous seller to refund us so that we can buy another one.
Bissell and I are now off to clean all the loose carpets and mattresses. Not that I'm one of these wives who gets excited about 'house gadgets' (God help my husband if he ever buys me a kitchen appliance for Christmas or my birthday) but this machine is just amazing! One of my all time favourites.
Noe hyggelig å starte året med

eeeewwww!!! Carpets in the bathroom were my pet hate in the UK!! Thanks for reminding me... I had forgotten! Thank heavens I only had to potty train 1 whilst there - the other 2 were/are still in nappies!!
AND - good luck with your paypal claim!! I got fleeced out of 80 quid for a Karen Millen dress, that - well wasn't!!! Paypal didn't want to know...Hope you have better luck! x
As a woman looking forward (not!) to toilet training a boy for the first time, I'm sure glad there's no carpet in the vicinity of the toilets here. Yeeuck is all I can say!
Carpets in the bathroom just don't make sense at all! I am, for the first time ever, living in a completely carpet-free home. Love it!
I also had a dodgy purchase from ebay recently. It's so sad that there are the one or two idiots who spoil it for everyone...
Carpet in bathrooms!! Yuck! A major pet peeve of mine - and something I should have put on my list of UK flat requirements - our bathroom is carpet free though - at least I think it is! :-S Have to check next time I'm across.
Ebay: Lost out on a Coldplay concert. Bought tickets from a nice guy on ebay, who sent the tickets express mail - recorded delivery. Unfortunately the Royal Mail treated express mail from Ireland as extremely slow snail mail, and they never arrived! However, they marked the tracking thing online with "item delivered", so no money was refunded...
Oh I so remember wall to wall carpeting!! I thank my lucky stars that its not as popular in Norway.
I must say with Nick going to be potty training in the next year I am going to stay where I am as fortunately we don't have carpeted bathrooms (yipee).
Hope you succeed with your claim...so frustrating for you and hard for your little one to understand.

i am still practicing... the music is spooky!
When I caught myself oohing and aahing over my good friend's hand carpet cleaner I knew the end was near.... :D
Carpeted bathrooms is gross...I'd freak out over the possibility of mold.
I'm so glad to have left carpeted bathrooms and, well, carpeted anything behind really... Here in Sweden we have lovely wooden floors.
oooh I hope your other son got his keyboard not too long after the one with the broken keys - I know what it's like to have two boys wanting the same thing (or kind of thing) and only one getting it.
@LadyFi - do all houses in Sweden have wooden floors? That really does sound lovely!
